Oscar Writer in QLD For New Action Series

Screenwriter of the 2005 Academy Award-Winning Animated Feature Wallace and Gromit – The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, Bob Baker, is currently in Queensland working on the new television series K9.

Bob Baker has had an extensive career writing for television and wrote nine episodes for BBC’s hit Sci-Fi- series Doctor Who. He was also a writer on the popular detective series Bergerac and the BAFTA-nominated series Shoestring for BBC TV.

Baker is writing the series, about a highly refined robot in the guise and personality of a dog, with local writers Shane Krause and Shayne Armstrong who penned the recently completed feature thriller Acolytes. K9 is being produced by Simon Barnes, and Richard Stewart and Penny Wall from Brisbane company Stewart Wall Entertainment.

Production is due to commence on the 26-part series.
